Note: This article is designed to guide program participants to device settings that may be impacting Reconnect Community functionality.

Are you not receiving notifications from Reconnect Community?

Check these settings:

  1. Reconnect Community app permissions

  2. Allow critical alerts

  3. Check your phone sound settings

  4. Check the physical silent button on the side of the phone

  5. Allow Reconnect Community to use cellular data

  6. Allow Reconnect Community to run in the background

  7. Disable low power mode

Are you having issues with your location?

Check these settings:

  1. Reconnect Community app permissions

  2. Turn on Precise Location for Reconnect Community

  3. Confirm the GPS is enabled

  4. Allow Reconnect Community to use cellular data

  5. Allow Reconnect Community to run in the background

  6. Disable low power mode

1. Confirm Reconnect Community app permissions

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Apps and scroll down to find Reconnect Community

  3. Select the Location option and confirm it is set to Always

  4. On the same screen, turn on Precise Location if that setting is available

  5. Return to the previous screen

  6. Select the Notification option and confirm it is set to Allow Notifications is On

  7. Turn on Critical Alerts. These are the extra loud alerts that sound when the check-in window is ending soon.

  8. Confirm that alerts are allowed on the lock screen, notification center, and as banners.

  9. Confirm that Sounds and Badges are both allowed.

2. Confirm that critical alerts are allowed

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Apps and scroll down to find Reconnect Community

  3. Select the Notification option and confirm it is set to Allow Notifications is On

  4. Turn on Critical Alerts. These are the extra loud alerts that sound when the check-in window is ending soon.

3. Check your phone sound settings

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Sounds & Haptics

  3. Increase the Ringers and Alerts volume if it is too low

  4. On the side of the phone above the volume buttons, confirm that the silent switch is not on.

Check whether the physical silent switch on the side of the phone is on. If you are not sure if the silent switch is on:

  • The silent switch is enabled if you can see orange along the switch.

  • If the phone is unlocked, when you change the switch, a pop-up will indicate if you have turned silent on or off.

5. Allow cellular usage for Reconnect Community

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Apps and scroll down to find Reconnect Community

  3. Turn on Cellular Data

6. Allow Reconnect Community to run in the background

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Apps and scroll down to find Reconnect Community

  3. Turn on Background App Refresh

7. Disable Low Power Mode

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Battery

  3. Confirm that Low Power Mode is Off

8. Confirm that Precise Location is on

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app

  2. Go to Apps and scroll down to find Reconnect Community

  3. Select the Location option

  4. Turn on Precise Location

9. Confirm that GPS is enabled on device

  1. Go to the phone’s Settings app and then to Privacy

  2. Find Location Services and confirm that is On
