Testing profiles allow you to define how often a client is required to drug test, and what tests will be administered. These profiles often line up with the Phases in your program.

Testing Profile Settings

Profile Type

There are three profile types available:

  • Period Weekly: Allows you to set a number of tests per week. Reconnect considers a week to start on Sunday and end on Saturday.
  • Period Monthly: Allows you to set a number of tests per month.
  • True Random: Performs a truly random selection daily, with odds that you can specify.

Note: NADCP's Best Practice Guide recommends that all Drug Court participants test at least two times per week, regardless of phase, and that you use the True Random profile type.

Period Weekly and Period Monthly Settings

When using the Period Weekly or Period Monthly profile types, the following settings are available:

  • Test Name: Select the type of test that should be associated with the profile.
  • Tests Per Week: Select the number of tests a participant with this profile should have in a week.

Tip: You can enter a range instead of a single number in the Tests Per Week field.

True Random Settings

When using the True Random profile type there are more settings available:

  • Frequency: Determines the likelihood that a participant will be asked to test on a given day. If your frequency is set to 2/5, then a participant will have a 40% chance of being required to test.
  • Min. Days Between Tests: The minimum number of days a participant must go between test days. If your minimum is set to 1, then no participant will be asked to test two days in a row.
  • Max. Days Between Tests: The maximum number of days a participant can go without being asked to test. If you maximum is set to 4, then a participant will never go more than four days without having to test.

Additional Settings

There are additional testing profile settings that are off by default. If you would like to utilize them, please reach out to Reconnect Support.

  • Lump Testing: Determines how to handle multiple test types within a profile. You have the option to randomize test types independently, to always lump test types, or to never lump test types.
