Reconnect Smartphone Service


Use this article to understand the technical specifications and limitations of the smartphones issued as part of the Reconnect Smartphone Service. The device will not allow the participants to install games, social media, messaging, or other unapproved applications.


Turn the smartphone on by pressing and holding the power button (the bottom button on the right side). Issue the phone to the participant, noting the Device tag identifier on the back of the device case (e.g. "10001"). When onboarding the client, make sure to add the Device tag identifier to the client's profile and save.

Make sure the client logs in to Reconnect Community with their username and PIN number, and conducts any other onboarding tasks before taking the device home.


The service is currently offered in areas where the T-Mobile or Verizon networks have acceptable coverage, using a data-only plan with a 1.5GB/month data cap. WiFi access is enabled to allow lower consumption of data. Please refer to the T-Mobile Coverage Map or the Verizon Coverage Map to determine service availability.

Device Management

The device will have limitations in place that will prohibit the client from using the device outside of its intended purposes. These limitations can be adjusted and formatted to specific needs.
